Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Ósk platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you are prohibited from using the service. This agreement applies to all users, including hosts, contributors, and those managing Ferming ceremonies or wedding events. As a platform, Ósk provides the infrastructure for managing event contributions; however, users remain responsible for the lawful use of the platform and the conduct of their events. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform following any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Material changes will be communicated with at least 14 days' notice. These terms are governed by Icelandic law.

You must be at least 18 years of age to register for an account and manage events. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials. Ferming and Minor Oversight: For Ferming events involving minors under 16, account management requires active parental or guardian oversight to ensure compliance with Icelandic data protection and consent regulations (Lög nr. 90/2018 um persónuvernd og vinnslu persónuupplýsinga). Account holders are solely responsible for the accuracy of information provided during the setup process. You agree to: - Provide accurate information during registration - Keep your credentials secure and not share your account - Use the platform only for lawful purposes - Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the platform

Ósk is designed to support the coordination of events, including weddings and Ferming ceremonies. Our platform streamlines administrative tasks and helps mitigate manual data entry errors. The service facilitates efficient fund availability for your event budget by enabling you to define specific operational liabilities — such as venue deposits, catering costs, or event services — and allowing guests to contribute toward those goals. Access to funds is subject to payment service provider processing times and terms — this is not a guarantee of immediate liquidity. We do not assume responsibility for the success of your event or the collection of contributions. Your usage of the platform for such purposes remains at your own discretion.

Transparency is core to the Ósk experience. During the beta period, Ósk is entirely free to use. All plans — Starter, Event Host, and Organization — are available at no cost. Future pricing, if applicable, will be communicated with clear notice before any charges apply. No automatic charges will be introduced without explicit notification. Payouts are facilitated through integrated payment service providers. You acknowledge that the timing of settlements is governed by the service provider's operational cycles. For clarity: Ósk does not charge hidden fees. Any future fee structure will be disclosed in full at the pricing page and at checkout before any transaction is processed.

Your privacy is paramount. Ósk is designed with data privacy standards in line with GDPR requirements (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the Icelandic Data Protection Act (Lög nr. 90/2018 um persónuvernd). Ósk adheres to applicable GDPR data protection standards in its architecture; however, full compliance remains a shared responsibility dependent on user configuration and data management practices. We process personal data solely for the purpose of facilitating your event. You retain the right to access, rectify, and request erasure of your personal data as permitted by law. Financial integrity is maintained through rigorous adherence to industry standards. Security is maintained through PCI-DSS v4.0.1 certified payment processing standards. We do not store sensitive payment card information directly on our servers, ensuring that your data is handled within the secure environments of our certified payment partners. Platform payment services are subject to third-party payment provider terms and availability.

All content provided by Ósk — including our platform interface, branding, and proprietary tools — is the property of Ósk or its licensors. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the platform for its intended purposes. Unauthorized distribution, modification, or reproduction of our proprietary content is strictly prohibited.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion if you violate these terms or engage in fraudulent or illegal activity. Upon termination, any pending contributions will be processed in accordance with the rules established by our payment service providers. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting our support team or using the account deletion feature within platform settings, subject to our data retention obligations under Icelandic law.
